It is a close relative of lemongrass, and is used in local cuisines. Our citronella essential oil is steam-distilled from leaves grown in Indonesia. Common Uses:Most people are familiar with citronella's use in repelling insects from citronella candles. Citronella candles sometime mix in cedarwood essential oil to round out the scent of the smoke. Citronella vapors provide clarity and clear breathing. Topically, citronella is good for oily skin, or helping damaged skin to heal. Diffuse, mix with a blend, mix a few drops in a spray bottle with water and spray to exposed skin/clothing, or apply in a 2-5% dilution. Aromatic Scent:Citronella Java Oil has a well rounded lemon citrus scent, though it is much softer than actual Lemon. It also has subtle wood tones. Cinnamomum Cassia The cinnamomum cassia tree grows natively in China, where the powdered bark has been used as an ingredient in natural medicine for gripe or colic for thousands of years. It is a close relative to cinnamon, with a sweeter aroma. Our cassia essential oil is steam-distilled from the leaves of the cassia tree. Common Uses:Cassia has a wonderful scent, and can be easily mixed with other spice essential oils. Diffuse in a blend or apply topically at a maximum of 0.2% dilution (one drop to 5 teaspoons carrier oil). Aromatic Scent:Cassia Essential Oil has a pungent, warm scent. Powdered cassia contains 1% to 2% volatile oil (cassia oil), which is mainly responsible for the spicy aroma. Cautions:Cassia Oil is a dermal irritant, dermal sensitizer and a mucus membrane irritant and should be avoided in pregnancy.

Pelargonium Graveolens The origanum marjorana plant is a close relative to oregano, with a softer, sweeter taste and smell. Cupressus Sempervirens

DESCRIPTION Patchouli is a bushy herb of the mint family, native to tropical regions of Asia. It grows well in hot weather but not in sunlight. The Leaves are harvested several times a year and often distilled immediately. The color of the oil is affected by the distillation machine; if the young leaves are distilled in a stainless steel vessel, the oil will be light, but if done in an iron vessel, the color will be dark. Our patchouli is distilled using an iron vessel and grown in Indonesia. Common Uses:Patchouli has long been used in skin care for its ability to help with issues such as chapped or cracked skin. It is often found in anti-aging skin creams due to its ability to lessen the look of some scars. It is also popularly used to relieve tension and anxiety. Eucalyptus Citriodora Lemon eucalyptus is not a blend or mixture. It comes from the eucalyptus citriodora, or lemon-scented gum tree, which is a massive evergreen that grows throughout Asia and Australia. Our lemon eucalyptus oil is steam-distilled from leaves grown in China. Common Uses:Lemon eucalyptus is great for repelling bugs. It also can increase relaxation for restful sleep and is great for promoting clear breathing during the cold or flu season. Diffuse or apply topically in 2-5% dilution. Aromatic Scent:Lemon Eucalyptus Essential Oil has a camphoraceous odor with a sweet, citrus undertone. Cautions:It is non-irritant and non-sensitive. Eucalyptus Lemon Oil should be used in dilution, and be avoided during pregnancy. It is considered toxic if taken internally. Avoid if you have high blood pressure or epilepsy.

Cinnamomum zeylanicum is indigenous to Sri Lanka and is now commonly also grown in Madagascar. It is a tropical evergreen tree in the laurel family growing up to 45 feet tall in the wild. The tree has a highly fragrant odor and is commonly used in small amounts as a spicy addition to creams, lotions and soaps. Our cinnamon is steam-distilled from the very thin, smooth bark of trees grown in Sri Lanka. Common Uses:Cinnamon is often used for its protective properties, and is great to add to cleaning mixes. In extremely low dilution, it is a very warming oil, and can be used in massage for a powerful uplifting effect. Diffuse mixed with a blend (alone it is extremely potent) or apply in a blend or extreme (max 0.2%) dilution. A 0.2% dilution is 1 drop to 5 teaspoons of carrier oil. Aromatic Scent:Cinnamon Bark Oil has a warm, spicy scent characteristic of cinnamon. Cautions:Cinnamon Bark Essential Oil can be irritating to the skin and mucous membranes - particularly in large doses. It should always be used in dilution. Avoid use during pregnancy.

Blue tansy essential oil is extracted using a special high pressure, low temperature steam extraction process from flowers of the tanacetum annuum grown in Morocco. Common Uses:Blue tansy is known for its powerful skin care properties, and can improve relaxation and fight stress. Apply in a 2-5% dilution to affected areas with light massage. Aromatic Scent:Tansy Blue Essential Oil has a surprisingly sweet scent making it perfect for applications in skin care products and skin therapies. Cautions:Blue tansy is generally found to be non-irritating and non-toxic. Research and anecdotes seem to indicate that its strength is highest when used at a maximum concentration of 5%. Avoid use during pregnancy.

Birch Betula Lenta The betula lenta tree has dark red bark with a sweet scent very similar to wintergreen. The tree has been used for hundreds of years - Native Americans pounded the bark and used it in poultices and warming teas. Our birch essential oil is steam-distilled from the bark of Canadian birch trees. Common Uses:Birch is a very warming essential oil, and is great to add to massage blends. Aromatically, it has a sweet, wintergreen scent. Topically, it quickly causes warming. It should always be applied with a carrier oil, even to very oily skin, as topical application has a remarkable drying effect. Diffuse or apply in 2-5% dilution. Aromatic Scent:Birch Sweet has a sweet, sharp, camphoraceous scent that is very fresh and similar to Wintergreen.   Caution:Birch has a naturally high concentration of salicylates, which are similar to aspirin in their ability to thin blood. It is also very sweet, which makes birch essential oil a hazard for children. Keep out of reach of children and always use in dilution. Avoid use during pregnancy.
