Stock certificates are another thing that is limited in supply and once they are gone into museums and collections they will be hard to get. They are such historic documents with so much history behind them. The first stock certificate was issued in 1606 by the Dutch East India Company. 407 years of history later the Walt Disney Company issued one of the last paper stock certificates from a major corporation in 2013.These had to be done on heavy paper stock, almost like a dollar bill but stiffer and more durable, which makes them stay vibrant and new looking for a long time. The other very unique thing about stock and bond certificates is they have all kinds of interesting signatures and you honestly never know whom you will find. Almost all stocks are signed by the company President and Secretary. Some collectors research the other signatures and historic significance and it adds so much provenance and value to an already valuable item. I have never done this as I can barely read my own signature let alone one from over 100 years ago and with the time it would take to do thousands of certificates my mother and I decided years ago not to bother. This item is within 20 years of full antique status. New York Central Railroad was headquartered in New York City's New York Central Building, adjacent to its largest station, Grand Central Terminal. In 1968, the NYC merged with its former rival, the Pennsylvania Railroad, to form the conglomerate of Penn Central. 15" x 10" ~My pictures seriously can't do it justice!Imagine hanging this vintage historic collectible on your wall as home decor in any room! Stock certificates are another thing that is limited in supply and once they are all gone into museums and collections, they will be hard to get. They are such historic documents with so much history behind them. The first stock certificate was issued in 1606 by the Dutch East India Company. 407 years of history later, the Walt Disney Company issued one of the last paper stock certificates from a major corporation in 2013.These had to be done on heavy paper stock, almost like a dollar bill but stiffer and more durable, which makes them stay vibrant and new-looking for a long time. The other very unique thing about stock certificates is they have all kinds of interesting signatures, and you honestly never know whom you will find. Almost all stocks are signed by the company President and Secretary. Some collectors research the other signatures and historic significance, and it adds so much provenance and value to an already valuable item. I have never done this as I can barely read my own signature, let alone one from over 100 years ago. Explore more from this curated collection of rare finds! This was one of the most famous cigars on the East Coast and is considered the most prominent business to ever operate out of Bonneauville, PA. They were in business from 1895 until they rolled their last cigar in March of 1943.This is a neat label, and it actually shows you one of the disadvantages of lithography. As the plates wore, it made every single piece slightly different, not perceptible most of the time. This one, though, you can see they accidentally dripped paint/embossing on the plate, and it was printed on obviously a large supply as almost everyone I have has it, but you can see the progression as it fades as the plates were used more and more. It's actually pretty neat and unique. The picture I took is of one of the early ones. If you would prefer one with very little to none of the misprint, I can grab one from the bottom, just let me know.Amazing Gold embossed label. Most companies at the time used real gold flakes in the embossing. Imagine hanging this over 100-year-old antique advertising on your wall as home décor in any room!Cigar labels show you what vintage advertising is all about with the wonderful graphics that lithography provided that modern printing just can't reproduce. What a beautiful label! It is amazing how beautiful and historic these are for this price. This is celebrating the World's Fair that was held in 1909. What a weird time in history they actually raffled away a month-year-old baby that nobody claimed the prize to. I wonder what happened to the baby? They also had exhibits set up by a French Doctor that displayed premature babies in incubators before they were even a thing. Besides all the oddities, some positive things came out of this also as William Boeing, founder of Boeing, stated that it was at the Alaska–Yukon–Pacific Exposition that he saw a manned flying machine for the first time and became fascinated with aircraft. My pictures seriously don't do it justice. I really like the bumblebee colors of this cap.I find reference to Sundrop owning this. SunDrop brand was developed in St. Louis, Mo., in 1949 by Charles Lazier, a salesman of beverage concentrates. The really neat thing about this is in those early years it was left up to the individual bottler to name the product. So that makes these really neat as they would be unique now and then!
